Bring out the branding

We get very excited here at ICG when we hear the rumble of the delivery van bringing our latest client promotional items.

From BIFA mugs to Yorkshire Copper Tube scarves, t-shirts and umbrellas, we can source almost anything to promote your business.

But it isn’t just a case of being fancy. We look at what you want to achieve by sending the gift, establish the target audience and then we come up with creative ideas that will fit like a glove.

For example, when Yorkshire Copper Tube wanted to keep the UK’s installers all toasty and warm in winter we found them some fleeces and scarves, which went down a storm.

If you’re stuck for inspiration drop us a line, we’ll be happy to help.

We love ‘the good life’ at ICG

Ok, so the picture isn’t very inspiring yet, but if you check back throughout the next 12 weeks you will see this bag of soil bloom into some terrific tomatoes.

We were sent this rather nifty mailer by Harmless Packaging as part of its promotion with Creative Review magazine.

The company is working to rid the world of harmful waste and who are we to argue with that?

After adding some soil and planting the tiny seeds, the bag will be planted in a pot where it will turn to…..wait for it….compost…..brilliant!

In just 12 weeks the offices here at ICG will be full of juicy tomatoes; we can’t wait.

Animal antics set to continue

There will be more animal antics for the ICG PR team in 2010 after it was confirmed that its Blackpool Zoo contract will continue.

It is the third year the team will be working with the award winning attraction after a record breaking 2009.

With visitor numbers higher than ever before, despite the economic doom and gloom, Blackpool Zoo enjoyed local and national coverage in newspapers, magazines, websites and even had seven TV appearances throughout the year.

Keep your eyes peeled for news on the new sealion enclosure, the birth of the Zoo’s first Western Lowland Gorilla and updates on 2009’s ‘zoo borns’.

ICG flying high with latest design project

The creative team at ICG have been working on a top flight advertising campaign for Blackpool International Airport, which will be rolled out in 2010.

Eye-catching designs, which will feature on north-west buses throughout the year, focus on promoting the airport’s Jet2.com routes, the unique free parking and the convenience of flying from the county.

Animated versions of the adverts have also been created for key travel websites.

ICG’s Creative Director Simon Couchman said: “We had great fun coming up with designs and concepts for the advertising campaign and everyone was very happy with the final results.

“We used the airport’s strong corporate colours along with eye-catching designs to draw attention to the key messages for the year ahead.

“It will be incredibly satisfying to see the adverts in place in the coming weeks.”

Electronic news - more for less

Reaching more people at a reduced cost is everyone’s perfect scenario right now.

That’s why the design team at ICG is suggesting you consider an ‘enterprising way’ to do just that.

Electronic newsletters have been snapped up by our client Enterprise as an innovative way to engage more directly with a variety of people.

There are currently two in the pipeline at ICG, both of which will support Enterprise’s flag ship print publication ‘Review’.

The first, Insight, comes as a direct result of feedback from staff and offers a great platform to share news and views amongst colleagues.

CR Connect will be hot on the heels of Insight and will act as a voice for the corporate responsibility work the company carries out.

“Electronic newsletters are a very exciting media to work with and they give more scope for interactive communication to a much wider audience,” said ICG’s Creative Director Simon Couchman.

“More and more clients are expressing an interest in working this way and we are looking forward to working on many more similar projects this year.”

Successful year in the pipeline

The year ahead looks set to be exciting for ICG as we will all be getting involved with helping long term client, Yorkshire Copper Tube, celebrate a milestone in its history.

A mix of PR, design, advertising and direct marketing will assist the company with publicising the 60 year anniversary of copper tube manufacture in Kirkby.

Since we started work with Yorkshire Copper Tube many years ago we have built and maintained a database of more than 5000 contacts, run several successful competitions, published numerous Tube Talk newsletters, created lead generating advertising campaigns, sourced and supplied hundreds of promotion items and achieved targeted PR coverage in key trade publications.

It has certainly been fun and we are looking forward to achieving more success with all at Yorkshire Copper Tube.
